Who should attend?
Foremen and Operatives employed by Organisation and Companies involved reinstatement of excavation in the highway.
Course Aims
To provide knowledge and skill to lay and compact non-bituminous sub-base and road base in accordance with the Code of Practise for the reinstatement of openings in the highway.
Course Objectives
On completion each candidate will be able to:
- Remove, if required, any temporary material above foundation level using typical tools and equipment.
- Prepare foundation for suitable reinstating materials.
- Place and level materials in accordance with the Code of Practise.
- Compact materials in accordance with the Code of Practise using typical equipment.
- Avoid damage to and accommodate existing underground apparatus during backfilling operation.
- Ensure site safety and cleanliness removing surplus materials and prepare excavation for surface reinstatement.
